Hello Pokémon Fans, Happy Pokémon Day! We have news… Generation 10 has been announced!
Winds & Waves
The Pokémon Day livestream of Pokémon Presents ended with a Generation 10 reveal. The game named as Pokémon: Winds and Waves, will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. It is certainly making a lot of waves in the community. The game looks wonderful, with a lot of different overworlds or biomes, including a cool underwater section. These new titles feature an open world to explore with beautiful windswept islands and vast oceans. Trainers will play as the main character with their outfit depending on the version they are playing.
The First Partners
So who are the First Partner Pokémon, let’s have a look:
Browt
First up, is the Grass First Partner Pokémon: Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon. This Pokémon runs about energetically while photosynthesizing using the leaves on its brow. It’s lively, but it can also be a bit clumsy.

Pombon
Next we have the Fire First Partner Pokémon: Pombon, the Puppy Pokémon. The area below its throat glows faintly from the heat-generating organ within its lungs. This Pokémon is guileless and friendly.

Gecqua
And finally we have the Water First Partner Pokémon: Gecqua, the Water Gecko Pokémon. This Pokémon launches springy balls of water from its tail. Gecqua is very intelligent and manoeuvres shrewdly while putting on airs.

Special Pikachu
We also had Pikachu revealed with 2 brand new looks: Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu. We currently don’t know how these two Pikachu are involved. Guess, we will have to wait!

The hype is real and the Games and Pokémon look even better. I am excited and I hope you are too! The games are releasing in 2027, so there is plenty of time. Let’s hope it is worth the wait.
