By now, we all know that Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global is coming, from July 13 – 14, 2024 with the event running from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm local time on both days.
Earlier this month, many features and announcements were revealed, but now there’s more, including the first details of Ultra Unlock 2024!
All Trainers will have the opportunity to enjoy each habitat hour twice during event hours on Saturday, July 13! There will be four different habitats:
- Dawn Meadow (10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. local time / 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time)
- Shining Day (11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time / 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. local time)
- Creeping Dusk (12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. local time / 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time)
- Darkest Night (1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time / 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time)

On Saturday, July 13, Trainers will be able to collect Field Research tasks from PokéStops that change each hour from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time!
On Saturday, July 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, all Trainers will have a chance of receiving Special Backgrounds from Ultra Beasts and Necrozma in five-star raids after making a successful catch!
On Sunday, July 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, all Trainers will have a chance of receiving Special Backgrounds from Necrozma in five-star raids after making a successful catch!
Ticket-holding Trainers will also encounter a Solgaleo or Lunala with a Special Background as a part of their ticketed Special Research. When fused with Necrozma with a Special Background, the resulting Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma will have its own variant of the background!

Now, let’s dive deep into the first details about the Ultra Unlock 2024!
During each habitat hour on Saturday, GO Fest Global ticket-holding Trainers around the world will be able to work together to complete a Global Challenge! If the challenge is completed in time, a special bonus will be unlocked for the remainder of the hour for ticket-holding Trainers.
Plus, if Trainers complete 20 challenges successfully, they will activate this year’s Pokémon GO Fest Ultra Unlock bonuses!
Ultra Unlock, Part 1: Better Together
Better Together is a special, to-be-announced event, that will take place, regardless of the number of challenges Trainers are able to complete.

And if Trainers complete a total of 20 Global Challenges, they’ll gain access to a to-be-announced special event that will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time!

There are a handful of Mega Pokémon not yet released in GO, including Mega Metagross, Mega Lucario, Mega Audino, Mega Camerupt, Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mawile, Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gallade.
