Trainers, this is not a drill! Mew’s encounter screen has been spotted in the Apple’s App Store Pokémon GO page, clearly showing the elusive pink Pokémon in his natural forest habitat. This image was not present in any of the Press Releases or blog posts shared by Niantic or the Pokémon Company, so we’re quite excited to get a first look at Mew in Pokémon GO.
If there was any doubt about it before, it’s gone now — Mew is coming. Although this screenshot is probably pre-rendered / created in Photoshop for App Store purposes, and although our Mew AR screenshots probably won’t be as exciting or as cool as this one, the pink myth will soon be available on devices around the world!
Here’s a bit more about Mew:
- Mew is notable for its unique ability to learn every Technical Machine, Hidden Machine, and Move Tutor move (except those exclusive to a particular Pokémon or group of Pokémon, such as Draco Meteor and Secret Sword). Hence the insane move pool!
- In combat scenarios where Mew deals neutral damage, Mew’s best move set is Pound with Solar Beam Grass, as it deals the most damage for Energy used. Despite Psychic benefiting from STAB, Solar Beam deals 8% more damage in those scenarios.
