The Sitting Cuties plushie range is a very popular line of plushies available at the Pokémon Center, and this week the Alola region Pokémon have been released!
The Sitting Cuties are a smaller and more affordable range of official plushies, that many Pokémon collectors adore. Typically they are in ‘sitting’ positions (where possible!) and are quite chunky and cute. The Alola region has such a fun array of different Pokémon, from the Ultra Beasts, to adorable little Pokémon, through to some more funny designs!
Which is your favourite? Here are some of our highlights:
The larger design Pokémon are often hilarious in Sitting Cuties form, and the Ultra Beasts are no exception! With such complex designs, there is a lot to compress into a design that typically ranges from 5-7 inches tall, leading to some amusing plushies. Celesteela and Guzzlord fall into this category, with a lot of detail, squished into tiny designs that look a lot less menacing.
Stakataka is shown stood up in their images, but I am not convinced that it will actually be able to do that, and instead the four legs may just ‘sploot’ out from underneath it so the body is on the ground. Poipole however is super cute, the pink and purple are great, and it has a round little belly that works so well for it.
There are some truly adorable options, Mimikyu has both a Busted and Disguised form plushies, with the busted form being the stand out! Rowlet is very chonky and cute, and so round.
Minior is currently only available in the Meteor Form and Red Core Form, and the Red Core one looks so happy! Bewear is another one that works so well as in the Sitting Cutie style, as it allows you to see the cute details on their feet.
And for some of the hilarious ones that stand out for all the wrong (but also weirdly right) reasons. Sandygast’s design is an awkward to translate into plushie form, and the hole in the middle looks questionable to say the least. Poor Jangmo-o looks like he is truly over it and done with everyone. Why does he looks so despondent?!
Alolan Muk looks like they are attending a fabulous dance party and I am here for it. The felt teeth are really odd and look haphazard. Alolan Exeggutor is as delightful as I had hoped, 35ft of Pokémon squeezed into 9 and a half inches of pure ridiculousness!
