New “GO Stamp Rally” Feature Announced on the Japanese Website

Trainers, a brand new feature has been announced on the Japanese Pokémon GO website, called GO Stamp Rally. Much like real-world stamp rallies that many people are familiar with, you can now enjoy collecting stamps by visiting various locations within Pokémon GO.

What is the “GO Stamp Rally”?

The GO Stamp Rally is a new feature that lets you visit specific PokéStops and spin their Photo Discs to collect stamps. With a new goal of gathering all the stamps, exploring the city becomes even more fun and exciting.

How to Play the GO Stamp Rally

GO Stamp Rally

The basic gameplay is just like a real-world stamp rally. Each GO Stamp Rally has a theme, and you’re tasked with visiting themed PokéStops to collect stamps.

When you approach a PokéStop that is part of a stamp rally, you’ll automatically receive a stamp sheet. A new rally button will also appear on the map so you can begin your GO Stamp Rally.

Once you start the rally, orange stamp icons will appear above eligible PokéStops. Visit those PokéStops and spin their Photo Discs to stamp your sheet.

Stamping works much like it does in real life. The appearance of the stamp varies depending on how you “press” it—the pressure and duration will affect how dark the stamp appears. However, you cannot re-stamp. Each stamp also includes the PokéStop’s name and the date.

As you visit multiple PokéStops and collect more stamps, you can earn themed items or even encounter specific Pokémon once you’ve completed all stamps—or collected a set minimum number of them.

The Inspiration Behind the GO Stamp Rally

Many wonderful places around the world are already PokéStops. Some are iconic spots, while others are local hidden gems that showcase the unique charm of their region. Exploring these places is one of the great joys of Pokémon GO.

We created the GO Stamp Rally feature to encourage Trainers to go out and discover more of the real world around them. Did you know stamp rallies actually originated in Japan? Inspired by this Japanese tradition, we developed the GO Stamp Rally with Japanese Trainers in mind—thinking about what would spark their curiosity and offer fun new gameplay experiences.

We hope Japanese Trainers will enjoy this locally-inspired feature, and in the future, we aim to bring this experience to Trainers around the world.
