Party Play Known Issues

Trainers, the new Party Play feature is now rolling out across the globe in Pokémon GO! It allows you to work together with your friends to complete challenges, boost your Raid Power, and adventure together on the map, in teams of up to four trainers, for an hour.

Below are some known issues one might experience as this is a fairly new feature and Niantic is still working on improvement. If you experience any other issues, please be sure to let Niantic know!

Distance explored displayed on the end of the Party summary may not match between players.

Issue description: When viewing the end of Party summary, the distance explored may vary between players if one person leaves a Party early. This is a visual bug and does not affect distance based rewards.

Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release (0.287)

Trainer Avatar still appears on the Map when they are in a Raid.

Issue description: When a Trainer in Party is in a Raid, their Avatar still appears on the Map.

Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release (0.287)

Instead of favourited Party challenges, default Party challenges appear on the activity page.

Issue description: When a Trainer favourites a Party challenge, it does not appear as favourited on the activities page.

Issue status: Investigating

Party Members are visible when their shared location data is disabled.

Issue description: When a Party Member turns off their location, their Avatar should disappear from other Trainers’ Maps. Instead, the Avatar appears on the Map but no longer shows the real-time location of the Party Member who turned off their location.

Party Power Up does not charge if all Party Members’ Pokémon faint during a Raid Battle.

Issue description: Party Power Up does not charge if all Party Members’ Pokémon faint during a Raid Battle, even when the Party Members rejoin the Raid Battle with new teams.

Issue status: Investigating

Using an official Bluetooth device (e.g. Pokémon GO Plus+) does not count towards Party Challenges or Party Tab Stats.

Issue description: Pokémon GO Plus+ and other official Bluetooth devices’ PokéStop spins and caught Pokémon do not count towards Party Challenges and are not counted on the Party Tab Stats.

Issue status: Investigating
