Happy Pokémon Day 2025, Trainers! Along with the joy and memories attached to this special occasion, fans across the world wait with bated breath for a brand new Pokémon Presents, which gives us information for all that’s to come in the year ahead.
This year’s feature has undoubtedly delivered and has everyone buzzing with excitement, so let’s break down all the details revealed. We’ll begin with our beloved Pokémon GO, being most relevant to our readers. Fasten your seat belts!
In Pokémon GO news, we learned the name of the new Season: Might and Mastery! This new Season will focus on the Legendary Fighting type Pokémon from the Isle of Armor DLC of Pokémon Sword and Sheild: Kubfu and its evolution Urshifu.
Note that Urshifu has two forms Single Strike Strike and Rapid Strike Style. It’ll be interesting to see how these Pokémon and their story pan out! The Might and Mastery Season begins on March 4, 2025, and will run until June 3, 2025.
Pokémon Legends ZA
After a year’s worth of wait, we finally got new details about Pokémon Legends ZA! The trailer revealed a good look into Lumiose City of the Kalos region, which is all set for a major redevelopment project in line with the game’s plot.
In addition, fans are now finally aware of the game’s starters! After months of speculation, the starter Pokémon in Legends ZA have been revealed to be Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile!
We also saw many of our favorite Mega Evolutions, and while there were no new Megas shown, it’s quite possible that the new starter trio get their own Megas or perhaps even unique final evolutions, similar to how Decidueye, Typhlosion, and Samurott got Hisuian forms in Legends Arceus. Hype!
Furthermore, Lumiose City will feature Wild Zones with unique biomes that are inhabited by wild Pokémon. You can catch them and partake in a new battle system involving movement around the stage and more!
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players have tons of stuff to do! First, the Paldean starters Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaquaval will be available in Tera Raid Battle events along with the Mighty Mark.
Upcoming Tera Raid Battle events will feature various Pseudo Legendary Pokémon, some of the strongest catches in the game.
Lastly, there will be Mass Outbreaks of Pokémon colored red, blue, and green, all with boosted shiny chances.
If all this wasn’t amazing already, players can also grab a new case for their Rotom phone.
It’s not just Legends ZA that’s getting Megas back into the limelight! The Trading Card Game is bringing back these powerful Pokémon, that too, in the form of EX cards!
Pokémon TCG Pocket
The latest sensation among Pokémon fans, TCG Pocket, will introduce a new mini-expansion set named Triumphant Light. This set will focus on Arceus EX and its new Link mechanics. Start opening these packs from February 28, 2025!
Also, players can take part in Ranked battles from the end of March, adding an exciting new competitive touch to the popular game.
Pokémon Sleep
Pokémon Sleep fans love getting their sleep but this time, they need to ward off nightmares from none other than the Mythical Darkrai! Thankfully, they can enlist the help of Darkrai’s counterpart, the Legendary Cresselia! Get set for Darkrai vs Cresselia!
Towards the end of March a dedicated Psychic type event will see them debut.
Pokémon Masters EX
Exciting new characters and Master Sync Pairs have been announced for Pokémon Masters EX, including May (Champion) & Shiny Primal Kyogre and Brendan (Champion) & Shiny Primal Groudon. There is also a free in-game gift of 3000 gems!
Pokémon Unite
Several new Pokémon are joining the fray in Pokémon Unite, with Suicune being introduced in March, Alolan Raichu in April, and Alcremie slated for later in the year.
Café Remix
Get ready to welcome Flapple or Appletun in a new event starting February 28, 2025.
A new game has been announced! Pokémon Champions brings the elements of core competitive bouts in a battle simulation game similar to the popular Pokémon Showdown!
Featuring both Mega Evolutions and Terastallization on the same battlefield, you can take part in high-octane matches with fellow trainers from all over the world. This is huge for competitive players who will have a proper official game to exercise their skills and team-making abilities.
What’s more, this new game will be available on Nintendo Switch and also iOS/Android. This could very well get the hype and love that TCG Pocket has received, making casual players better acquainted with competitive battle mechanics.
The icing on the cake is the fact that Pokémon Champions can be connected to Pokémon Home, allowing you to use your strongest catches from Pokémon GO and Scarlet & Violet.
Pokémon Presents 2025 has turned out to be phenomenal and rewarding. With tons of exciting content and even a new title announced for the Pokémon franchise, fans are in for a thrilling ride!
