Today is Pokémon Day 2024, and the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. That means a brand new Pokémon Presents, giving us new information for the year ahead across the Pokémon franchise. We’ll break it down into a few sections, with Pokémon GO up first as it is the most relevant to our readers. Hype!
This year not only marks Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary but also Pokémon GO’s 10th Anniversary. As such an event will be hosted where almost all Pokémon that have previously appeared in GO will appear titled Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out. Generation 10
The biggest highlight of the Pokémon Presents and one I’m sure many have been eagerly expecting. The next entries into the mainline Pokémon series will continue with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves this 2027. Further info here.
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions
The modern Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 Ports of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen the 2004 remakes of Red and Green will be available digitally starting tomorrow. This brings these classic entries into modern platforms with Pokémon Home (and by proxy Pokémon Champions and mainline series) support.
Pokémon Legends Z-A: Mega Dimensions

Mega Garchomp-Z a new Mega Evolution of Garchomp will be available as a Mystery Gift for owners of the Pokémon Legends Z-A: Mega Dimensions DLC!
Pokémon World Championship Series

This year the Pokémon World Championship will be hosted in the Chase Center at San Fransico, USA featuring Pokémon GO, Pokémon Unite, Pokémon TCG, and Pokémon VGC. Along with the main event, there will be a fan event being referred to as Pokémon XP. Not only that, this year marks the first time the VGC World Tournament will be hosted on Pokémon Championships. Speaking of which:
Pokémon Champions
The official Pokémon Battle Simulator, Pokémon Champions finally has an approximate release date. It will be available during April 2026 on the Nintendo Switch systems. However, those eager to play it as a standalone release will have to wait until later this year.
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
The Nintendo Gamecube spin-off game, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness will be available on Nintendo Classics on Nintendo Switch 2 this March. Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is the sequel to Pokémon Colosseum and differs from the mainline series by allowing you to catch and purify shadow Pokémon used by opponents and featuring double battles exclusively.
Pokémon Pokopia

The Pokémon life sim spinoff, Pokémon Pokopia will be available the 5th of March. Further details have been announced during the livestream including DJ Rotom who will act as a radio/music player for the game, Chef Greedent who will allow you to cook in the game, and multiplayer features such as hide-and-seek, building large structures together, and transforming into objects. A Ditto Rug will also be available as a pre-purchase bonus.
Pokémon Sleep
Special Mew Missions will be starting tonight in Pokémon Sleep!
Pokémon Masters EX
As a part of a double anniversary event (Master Ex’s 6.5) Classic Red from Pokémon Red and Green will be available along with Ex Master Sync Pair Florian and Ogrepon, and Ex Master Sync Pair Juliana and Terapagos. You can also login now to get 3000 gems.
Pokémon Unite
Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno, the three legendary birds from Kanto are available now on Pokémon Unite with a special event to unlock their unite licenses. The starters from Johto Meganium, Feraligatr, and Typhlosion will also be appearing in Unite at a later date.
Cafe Remix

First Partner Pokémon throughout the Pokémon franchise will reappear in Cafe Remix starting with the Kanto Starters tomorrow!
TCG Pocket
The Paldean Wonders series of cards are available now! Not only that, 30 days of gifts will be available to celebrate 30 years of Pokémon.
Gameboy Music Player

A small music player shaped liked the original Nintendo Gameboy is available now this February 27th. You can swap out cartridges to play any of the original 45 tracks from the original Pokémon Red and Blue with the promise to sound as close to the original game’s music as possible.
The Trading Card Game
Reprints of many classic cards along with new Mew and Mewtwo cards will be available worldwide this 2026!
