Pokémon Europe International Championships London 2023

The Pokémon International Championships will be held from April 14-16th in London, featuring competitions for Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Video Game Championship, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE players.

The top players will earn invitations to the World Championships, with thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes and payouts available. Featured Pokémon include Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear. 

Pokémon Europe International Championships take place this weekend in London!

Trainers, save the dates – you won’t want to miss this! From April 14-16th the Pokémon International Championships will be held in London! Join the event to pick up some special freebies, unlock event bonuses, and snap a photo with your Buddy at the real-life PokéStop.

The Pokémon Europe International Championships (EUIC) are the third International Championships event of the 2023 Championship Series season. This event is aiming to be one of the largest Pokémon Championship Series tournaments as competition gears up for the World Championships, and it features exciting competitions for Pokémon Trading Card GamePokémon Video Game ChampionshipPokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE players.

This season’s EUIC event will take place at ExCeL London in London, England, on April 14 through 16, 2023. It will feature high Championship Point payouts and thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes, spread between the Pokémon TCG, VGC, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE competitions.

For European competitors, there are only three tournaments left in the Play! Pokémon season that will award invitations to the 2023 World Championships slated to take place in Yokohama, Japan this August. Four of the remaining eight invitations from those three tournaments will be awarded this weekend, in addition to thousands of dollars in prizes.

You’ll be able to catch all the action at Twitch.tv/PokemonGO on Saturday, April 15, 2023, and Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Competition Details

Players must comply with the Tournament Rules. When you show up at a Pokémon GO tournament, there are some things you must have with you:

  • A team of tournament-legal Pokémon for the Great League format in your Pokémon GO account
  • Proof of age may be requested, and failure to provide proof of age may result in the player being denied participation in the tournament (at the organizer’s discretion)

You also need to know the game play rules which apply:

  • Players will compete in double-elimination brackets on Saturday, April 15, 2023, using the Great League format in Pokémon GO.
  • Players will compete on smartphones provided by the organizer. Players will be expected to log in and log out during the tournament. It is a player’s responsibility to log out of the device during the tournament.
  • On Sunday, April 16, additional rounds will be played until a Champion is determined. More details will be released at a later time.
  • Matches are best of three, except for the Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals, which are best of five.

Prizes

The top players will earn invitations to the World Championships. Players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account with a Player ID attached and must have opted in to the Play! Pokémon program to earn prizes.

Prize Award Information

The format of each prize is dependent on the age of the recipient. Here are the International Championships prizes for the 2023 Play! Pokémon Championship Series season.

18 years of age and older:

  • Awards of $5,000 or more: choice of scholarship or cash
  • Awards under $5,000: cash

Under 18 years of age:

  • Awards of $5,000 or more: choice of scholarship or Pokémon Visa® prepaid card
  • Awards under $5,000: Pokémon Visa® prepaid card

Prizes are based on attendance per age division. Unless otherwise specified, all prizes are paid in US dollars and subject to applicable tax withholding. Prize winners should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their tax obligations.
