Pokémon GO has announced the details of this year’s PokéCoins Black Friday Sale, and it is held exclusively over the Pokémon GO Web Store, an official website which allows Trainers to get PokéCoins outside of the regular in-app shop, and to be rewarded with additional, bonus Coins for their purchase.
This years Black Friday is doubling down on bonus coins, with Niantic giving 2x Bonus Coin amount for all bundles over $20 USD. No, this doesn’t mean that they are giving 2x bundle size for the same price – which would actually be quite amazing – but rather just doubling their bonus coins reward for purchasing through the Pokémon GO Web Store.
We went ahead and checked the prices, compared them to regular Web Store bundles, and to in-app bundles which are currently available in my country (Croatia). Prices for all of these bundles will be probably different for you, as Niantic uses region-specific pricing, but here’s how it looks like from my end.

Here are all the available PokéCoins I can purchase, with their coin amount, prices, and price per 100 Coins for each bundle (PP 100 column).

A things are immediately noticeable from this table. Black Friday deals are arguably the best deals available for larger bundles, but they are not that great. When comparing these large bundles, we can see that the regular Web Store bundles are on average 7% cheaper than in-game bundles, and that Black Friday bundles are on average 13.5% cheaper than the equivalent in-game bundle.
On average, if you decide to buy PokéCoins during this sale, you will be saving anywhere from 12% to 14.3% depending on the bundle you decide to go for.
Frankly speaking, these are not some wild Black Friday deals that we’ve come to expect over the years as consumers. If you weren’t in a rush to buy Coins, it is safe to sit this one out. If you are looking to purchase coins, than going for any one of these deals is fine, and there is no major difference in the bundle size you decide to go for. You’re still getting relatively the same discounts compared to in-game prices.
