Pokemon GO Travel and first Global Catch Challenge announced: catch 3 billion Pokémon from November 20th to 26th

the big Pokemon GO news are finally here! Niantic has announced the Pokemon GO Travel, a new video series to see the world through the eyes of a Pokémon Trainer.

In addition, the first ever global catch challenge has been announced, tempting Pokemon trainers world wide to catch 3 billion Pokémon in just 7 days!

If the challenge is fulfilled, the following rewards will be unlocked:

To recap:

  • Catching 500 Million Pokemon will unlock double XP, 6 Hour Lures and increased spawn rates
  • Catching 1,5 Billion Pokemon will unlock double Stardust, double XP, 6 Hour Lures and increased spawn rates
  • Catching 3 Billion Pokemon will unlock two regional Pokemon, Farfetch’d (worldwide) and Kangashkan (East Asia), double Stardust, double XP, 6 Hour Lures and increased spawn rates

In addition, Niantic is preparing a special celebration event on November 26th in Tottori Sand Dunes, Japan (see our Safari Zone: Tottori Sand Dunes event page for more info), featuring Youtube stars and more:

Stock up on Poké Balls, Trainers. The Global Catch Challenge starts now and concludes with a special celebration at the Pokémon GO Safari Zone event in Tottori, Japan, on November 26.
