After the hype of the 2026 Pokémon GO Fest events and the excitement of Mega Mewtwo X and Y, we are buzzing to share that the Pokémon GO Wild Area is returning in November 2026! This year there will also be two in-person Pokémon GO Wild Area events, alongside the global event.
- The Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 in-person events will be held from November 6 to 8 in Sendai, Japan (with gameplay extending across the city and into select areas of the wider Tohoku region) and Mexico City, Mexico.
- The Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026: Global event will take place worldwide on November 14 and 15.
Tickets for both the in-person experiences and global in-game event will be available next Season, along with more details about what you can expect from this year’s event.#
Based on previous years we would expect a Gigantamax Pokémon to feature prominently, along with two specific Pokémon types appearing in the wild. In 2024 Electric and Poison types dominated for the debut of Gigantamax Toxtricity, whereas in 2025 Dark and Fairy types featured with the release of Gigantamax Grimmsnarl. Mighty Pokémon will also make their return, which is always one of the most hyped features of the event!
Potential Gigantmax Pokémon and their associated types that could be released are:
| Gigantamax Pokémon | Typing |
Gigantamax Orbeetle
|
Bug Psychic |
Gigantamax Drednaw
|
Water Rock |
Gigantamax Coalossal
|
Rock Fire |
Gigantamax Corviknight
|
Steel |
Gigantamax Melmetal
|
Steel |
Gigantamax Flapple
|
Grass Dragon |
Gigantamax Appletun
|
Grass Dragon |
Gigantamax Sandaconda
|

Gigantamax Centiskorch
|
Fire Bug |
Gigantamax Hatterene

Gigantamax Duraludon

Gigantamax Rapid Strike Urshifu

Gigantamax Single Strike Urshifu

We suspect it will feature a Gigantamax Pokémon with dual typing to give more spawn variety, and it is unlikely to be Urshifu or Melmetal due to the Mythical status.
