Pokémon News Weekly Roundup: TCG 30th Celebration, New Pokémon Aeroplane, PokémonXP & Worlds Schedule, New LEGO and more!

This week in Pokémon news has some really exciting announcement, with the 30th Celebration products for TCG being teased, a brand new Pokémon aeroplane, the schedule for the World Championships and PokémonXP event have been announced, new LEGO sets have been revealed, Zorua is coming to Pokopia, and a new POKÉTOON short has been released

Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Product Showcase

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is celebrating 30 years with an expansion sure to excite fans across the world: 30th CelebrationThere are exciting new illustration rare cards, throwback cards in the Classic Collection, and of course, a ton of Pikachu. Each 30th Celebration booster pack is set to include five foil cards (including one of 30 unique illustrations of Pikachu) and one foil Basic Energy card.

The different sets and collections will be available beginning 16th September 2026! This includes an Elite Trainer Box, Sticker Collection, Blister Packs, the Knock Out Collection and ex Boxes. On 2nd October 2026 more different items will become available including a Binder Collection, Booster Bundle, adorable Mini Tins, and then on 30th October 2026 a Battle Deck is released. On 6th November 2026 the Ditto Premium Collection will be released, and Day & Night themed Premium Collections, along with Mew and Mewtwo figurines collection sets. 

There are some absolutely stunning cards in this collection, and we hope people will be fair with not scalping or reselling so that real fans can get an opportunity to add these to their collections, they are bound to be extremely popular!

New Pokémon LEGO Sets

The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International have revealed five new sets for the LEGO Pokémon range of build and display experiences. These sets feature iconic Trainers and Pokémon alike, with some including highly anticipated LEGO Pokémon minifigures and Pokémon figures.

The assortment features beloved Pokémon, including Arcanine, Rayquaza, and Munchlax, recreated in LEGO brick form, giving builders the opportunity to recreate the action one brick at a time. Also launching is a large brick-built minifigure of the noted Trainer Red and the new LEGO® Pokémon™ Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball, featuring three Pokémon Trainer minifigures and Pikachu and Eevee figures.

The highlight is a massive 1,083-piece set, LEGO® Pokémon™ Rayquaza (72168) which recreates the iconic Sky Pillar scene from the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire games and includes an exclusive minifigure of Zinnia.

Pokémon Worlds and PokémonXP Schedule Released

PokémonXP and the Pokémon World Championships have released their daily schedule. Information for both PokémonXP and Worlds activities is now available at the link for these in-person events in San Francisco, California, August 28–30, 2026.

Certain programming sessions have limited entry. The programming interest list is set to open on June 30, 2026, and event attendees will be contacted directly with information on how to mark their interest. There are a huge variety of different sessions, from an Art Class with Pokémon Trading Card Game Artist sowsow, to a make-up demonstration with Colourpop, to meet and greets with Pokémon, live skateboarding demos, and even the chance to make your own plushie with Build-A-Bear!

Zorua in Pokopia

The Zorua’s Hide-and-Sneak Contest event has been announced for Pokémon Pokopia from July 19, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. to July 27, 2026, at 4:59 a.m. local time. When you start up the game, you’ll be able to find Zorua in front of any rebuilt Pokémon Center, ready to chat about hide-and-sneak contests. Participating in one will give you the chance to earn special prizes based on your performance, including a trophy!

Zorua can only visit towns with a rebuilt Pokémon Center, so if you want to participate in this event, make sure you have at least one up and running. For this event, you can also meet up in another player’s world or on a Cloud Island to participate in a contest together. The fastest completion time among all participating players will become the town or Cloud Island’s best record.

Pokémon Jet Red

Japanese airlines ANA have announced their new Pokémon Jet Red, celebrating Fire type Pokémon from across the franchise, including the brand new Pombon from Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves! They already have a Jet Green for Grass types and Jet Blue for Water types, so this completes the trio. This is part of not only to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the birth of Pokémon, but also the 40th anniversary of ANA International flights. It is a lottery system to get tickets for these exclusive flights, with only 80 seats available on the flight on 28th July 2026.  As well as the flight itself, The event also features a special ceremony and exhibition of original in-flight items.
