New York City is about to get a shocking dose of electric excitement! In honor of Pokémon Day, the iconic Empire State Building will be illuminated in the franchise’s signature blue and yellow colors on February 27, 2024, between sunset and 2 a.m. EST.
This dazzling display is just one part of a day-long celebration that will also include special appearances by fan-favorite Pokémon characters and Timed Research tasks in Pokémon GO.
The Pokémon Company International is partnering with The Toy Foundation™ to donate $10,000 to a New York-based charity as part of the festivities. This generous contribution underscores Pokémon’s commitment to giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the world.

Trainers who visit the Empire State Building anytime on Feb. 27, 2024, can complete exclusive Timed Research tasks in Pokémon GO to earn rewards including Incense, Lure Modules and an encounter with Pikachu wearing a party hat.
Additional themed PokéStops will be available near the Empire State Building, and Lure Modules used on PokéStops will have a higher chance of attracting the Symbol Pokémon, Unown.
