How To Participate
Pokémon GO, much like VG and TCG now uses the Championship Points System. Under this new system, trainers can gain championship points by participating in local, regional, and international tournaments. Trainers who are first to reach the top of the Championship Point leaderboard can even get travel awards and travel stipends to go to Hawai’i to participate in the World Championships! How many points you need to participate changes based on region according to this handy table:
Region | Required Points |
US and Canada | 500 |
Europe | 400 |
Latin America | 300 |
Oceania | 250 |
Middle East & South Africa | 200 |
If you want to learn more about championship points, you can do so here. There will be special merch themed for the event available exclusively at the event which will likely have a pop up Pokémon Center, goody bags for competitors and more!
Goodbye for now, Pokémon trainers. Priom-out!
