Pokémon Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon and special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of October. Shroomish Spotlight Hour takes place tomorrow, October 10, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with 2× Evolution XP bonus.
This Spotlight Hour is the second October 2023 Pokémon spotlight, and it is especially interesting as Shroomish gives 500 Stardust on catch! In other words, this is one of the best times in October to farm Stardust!
Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared to use Star Piece to increase their Stardust yield to 750 Stardust per Shroomish caught, and additional Lucky Eggs to double the Spotlight evolution XP bonus. Here’s everything you need to know!

Shroomish is a Grass-type Pokémon. Shroomish is weak to Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Poison-type moves. Shroomish has a Max CP of 916 in Pokémon GO, it is weather boosted by Sunny weather, and it was originally found in the Hoenn region. Shiny Shroomish is available in Pokémon GO.

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Shroomish if they are Mega/Primal evolved.
Breloom
Breloom is a strange Pokémon in GO’s meta, as its hybrid Grass and Fighting type provides very little coverage in GO Battle League, and it’s currently available moves are not that great either.
Breloom’s best charged move is Grass Knot, which is (unfortunately) a legacy move that can only be obtained by using an Elite Charged TM. We strongly recommend you do not waste your Elite TMs on Breloom, since there is a metric ton of better raid attackers and better PvP Pokémon in the current meta.
So… is it worth evolving a Breloom? Well, given you will be farming Shroomish for Stardust, and given that Shroomish Spotlight Hour does have a 2x EXP bonus for evolving Pokémon, we say yes, go ahead and evolve.
Don’t waste Stardust on powering up Breloom, but do evolve and keep them. If you catch weather boosted Shroomish, you will have a good bench of high CP defenders that you can easily deploy and forget at your local Gyms.
