Pokémon Sleep: Cresselia, Darkrai, Pokémon Day Gifts & Major Updates Announced!

Trainers, thanks to Pokémon Day on the 27th February 2025, a huge amount of information has been teased for Pokémon Sleep! From new Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, to free gifts, level cap increases and major updates, let’s get right into it.

Pokémon Day Free Gift

Cresselia and Darkrai

Beginning around the end of March 2025, an event will bring with it the debut of Cresselia vs. Darkrai!

Psychic type helper Pokémon will be particularly effective during this event, so it is recommended to work on your Psychic-type helper Pokémon to get ready. Psychic type helper Pokémon include Mr. Mime, Espeon, Wobbuffet, Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Wynaut, and Mime Jr.

More details about the Legendary Pokémon Cresselia, the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai, and the event are coming in a later update.

Major Updates

To commemorate Pokémon Day, a variety of announcements for some of the content Pokémon Sleep have planned for future updates was shared!

To be Updated in the Next Update

  • Adjustments to some Natures: “Speed of Help” modifiers based on a Pokémon’s Nature, which affect helper stats, will be adjusted so that the Pokémon can help a little faster than before. This applies to the following Natures: Bold, Modest, Calm, and Timid.
  • Changes to some weekly mission rewards: Changes to the Pokémon incenses you can get as a reward for the third “Get Snorlax to a certain rating” mission. Areas where these changes apply: Greengrass Isle, Cyan Beach, Taupe Hollow, and Snowdrop Tundra.
  • Adjustments to the rewards you receive when you conduct sleep research twice in one day and research at least 11 Pokémon in a single day. Rewards for the eleventh Pokémon and any subsequent Pokémon you research in a single day will be less, as follows: 1 Pokémon candy and half the usual number of Dream Shards and research EXP.
  • Increasing the number of Pokémon candies you gain through sleep research

To Be Implemented in the Update After the Next

Unlocking the limits for research rank, helper Pokémon levels, and more:

  • Research rank: 60→65
  • Pokémon level: 60→65
  • Recipe level: 60→65
  • Pokémon Box max capacity: 1,000→1,200

Plus:

  • Additions and adjustments to perks gained from raising friendship levels above a certain point. Pokémon Sleep plan to add perks as well as adjust the existing perks.
  • Balance adjustments to certain sub skills
  • Research EXP Bonus. Before change: Boosts the research EXP gained through sleep research by 6%. After change: Boosts the research EXP gained through sleep research by 9%.
  • Energy Recovery Bonus. Before change: Multiplies the Energy the team recovers from sleep sessions by 1.14. After change: Multiples the Energy the team recovers from sleep sessions by 1.14. The max amount of Energy that this skill’s user can recover from sleep sessions is increased by 5 (to 105).

Returning Researcher Bonus Vol. 2

Pokémon Sleep are giving out a Returning Researcher Bonus to players who are coming back to play Pokémon Sleep after being away for a while. In addition to special gifts—including 10 Poké Biscuits—each qualifying researcher will get perks, such as a hungry Pokémon showing up during sleep research.

And as a token of our gratitude, they will also be sending special gifts to all the researchers who have been playing Pokémon Sleep regularly!

A new Trial Bundle will be available beginning Feb. 27, 2025, at 5:00 a.m.—and it’s filled with items and diamonds! Unlike the usual bundles you can get by exchanging diamonds, Trial Bundles can be purchased directly.
