Power levelling with Pidgey

Pidgey Power Leveling Guide
Pidgey Power Leveling Guide

Ever since Pokémon GO launched in 2016, Trainers have coveted Pidgey for a particular reason: power levelling. Pidgey needs only 12 Candy to evolve into Pidgeotto, unlike many other Pokémon that require 25 or 50 Candy.

Pidgey Spotlight Hour bonus brings 2x XP for evolving Pokémon, which means that farming XP by Pidgey power levelling is back on the menu. Here’s what you need to know:

  • You need 12 Pidgey Candy for every Pidgey evolution
  • Evolving a Pidgey will reward you 1000 XP outside of the event, and 2000 XP during the Pidgey Spotlight Hour event
  • If you evolve with a Lucky Egg active, you will get 4000 XP per evolution

You should be able to amass a large amount of XP during the event. We suggest running the familiar catch-evolve-transfer loop every 15 or 20 minutes. Farm enough Pidgey, evolve them, transfer, rinse and repeat.
