In order to get a Vivillon, you first need to get Scatterbug, its first-stage evolution. To get an encounter with Scatterbug, you need to pin Postcards you receive from a friend. Pining a postcard will make progress on the Vivillon collector medal associated with this location.
If you collect several Postcards from a certain region, you’ll have a chance to encounter a Pokémon which will be a Scatterbug that evolves into a Vivillon from that region.
If you run away from the Scatterbug encounter, or if the game crashes on you, don’t worry – you can still encounter Scatterbug from the map which is available when you click on the Vivillon Collector medal.

Increased Guaranteed Lucky Pokémon
The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon a Trainer can receive in a trade has been increased from 25 to 35!
Plus, starting Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time, if you trade a Pokémon that has been in a Trainer’s Pokémon storage since 2019, it is guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokémon until the limit is reached!
This change is a permanent update.
