Shiny Snom makes their Pokémon GO debuts during the Summer Marathon: Arctic Embers event! Running from Tuesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 10, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the event features a new GO Pass, boosted Shiny rates for select Pokémon, timed research, and more.

Shiny Snom Debut
For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Snom! You may encounter Snom when you complete GO Pass tasks. You may also hatch Snom from Eggs. Here are what the shiny forms look like vs the regular forms:

There will be a free Timed Research available during the event. Timed Research rewards include the following:
- 16,800 XP
- An encounter with Pikachu wearing a marathon visor
Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Monday, August 10, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe
From Tuesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 10, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe for Summer Marathon: Arctic Embers will be available in Pokémon GO.
A GO Pass is a free, limited-time progression track available during a specified period. By collecting GO Points, you can increase your rank to earn rewards.
Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: Summer Marathon on Tuesday, August 4 at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Monday, August 10, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass will expire on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, so be sure to claim your rewards before they’re gone.
Complete Pass Tasks to rank up your GO Pass to earn the following rewards:
