Choose Your Path: Venom and Vines is a special Timed Research in Pokémon GO, available from Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Monday, August 17th, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This is part of the Forever Forward Season’s Choose Your Path Timed Research series, which gives Trainers a way to customize their gameplay during quieter, non-event weeks.
For Venom and Vines, Trainers will be asked to choose one research path. Depending on which test group your account is placed in, you may see either 3 or 6 different path options. Once you choose a branch, your decision is final and you cannot switch to another path.
Event themed Field Research is also available during the event.

Choose Your Path Timed Research (Weekly version)
If you receive the Weekly version of the Choose Your Path Timed Research, you will be able to pick between 3 choices, but your Research will last until end of week. The paths you can chose from are:
Explore (Egg): 1/2 Hatch Distance
Catch (Candy): Additional Candy for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better
Battle (Team GO Rocket): Extra Mysterious Components from Team GO Rocket Grunts

A Note on Different Research Versions
Scopely appears to be testing two different versions of Choose Your Path: Venom and Vines. Some Trainers are seeing the full-week version with 3 branches, while others appear to be getting a daily version with 6 branches. We are still verifying the exact behaviour, but your available paths may differ from other Trainers.

Some Trainers may be able to pick a different path bonus each day. Each daily choice grants its own set if Timed Research that expires at the end of the day. The paths you can chose from are:
Explore (PokéStops): 5× XP for spinning PokéStops
