Pokémon GO Fest 2024 Global is almost upon us, and if you haven’t bought your ticket yet you may be wondering what the difference is between what is available for free, and what is available for ticket holders only. Is it worthwhile getting that ticket? We know all the information shared can seem quite complicated and convoluted, so let’s break it down!
Tickets are available now for $14.99 US (or equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), and there are early Ticket Purchase bonuses you can look forward to. Global tickets will be available to purchase up until the last day of the event -unlike the in-person events, Trainers don’t need to worry about the global event selling out!
Free Experience
All trainers will receive the following bonuses and rewards during event hours:
🎟️ Ticketed Experience
Ticket holders will be rewarded with the following bonuses during event hours:
Personally, these bonuses are the make or break for buying the ticket. If you’re looking to shiny hunt or primarily raid during this event the ticket is for you. Without it the shiny rates will not be boosted and you may end up spending money on Premium Raid Passes unless you have some saved up already.
All Pokémon that appeared in the wild during the first day of the event will also appear during event hours on the second day. There are no rotating habitat hours on the second day, so these Pokémon may appear at any time.
In general, Ticket holders have access to Unown spelling ‘NIGHT AND DAY’, costumed Umbreon and Espeon and a special Pokémon in each habitat. These special spawns are accessible via Incense only for ticket holders. The base spawns for each habitat don’t require a ticket.
In terms of spawns, the major difference is that with the ticket, you get Unown spawns, along with Corsola, Maractus, Rockruff and Vullaby. Without the ticket, none of these special spawns will appear for you as they are for incense only with a ticket. How worthwhile you consider these spawns is going to be very much down to the individual, many will consider the chance of shiny Unowns to be incredibly valuable, add in the two regional exclusives of Corsola and Maractus, and you have a lot of rare spawns.
Vullaby also is usually only 12km egg exclusive, with Rockruff found in 10km adventure sync eggs. With this year’s release of dusk form Lycanroc, many Trainers will be wanting to get their hands on that shiny dusky husky!

Marshadow Exclusive Special Research

After its appearances in Sendai, Madrid, and New York City, the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow will make its global Pokémon GO debut on the first day of Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global.
Ticket-holding Trainers will be able to complete exclusive Special Research to learn more about the Gloomdweller Pokémon—and have an opportunity to encounter it! Trainers will only encounter Marshadow once no matter how many Pokémon GO Fest 2024 Special Research stories they acquire and complete.
If you obtained a Special Research from an in-person 2024 GO Fest event, you will receive Marshadow Candy as the final reward for the global GO Fest 2024 Special Research instead of another Marshadow.
Dawn Wings & Dusk Mane Necrozma

Trainers with an active Pokémon GO Fest 2024 ticket will be able to participate in Special Research that will grant enough Solar Fusion Energy or Lunar Fusion Energy to fuse Necrozma once into Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma depending on their branching quest choice.
Ticket-holding Trainers will also encounter a Solgaleo or Lunala with a Special Background as a part of their ticketed Special Research.
When fused with Necrozma with a Special Background, the fused Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma will have its own variant of the background!
Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma will be available to all trainers on Day 2 of GO Fest Global through 5-star raids, so by not having this research you won’t be missing out on much. However, Marshadow is completely ticket locked at this stage and we do not have any info on when it will be released to F2P players.
Free Experience
On Saturday, July 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, all Trainers will have a chance to receive Special Backgrounds from Ultra Beasts in five-star raids, including Necrozma, after making a successful catch!
On Sunday, July 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Mane Necrozma will appear in raids. All Trainers will have a chance to receive Special Backgrounds from Necrozma in five-star raids after making a successful catch!
🎟️ Ticketed Experience
There is no different for Ticket Holders in terms of access to raids. While Ticket Holders have an acknowledged shiny boost, we do not know if this will impact on raid shiny odds which are already much higher than normal shiny rates.
🎟️ Ticket Holders ONLY will have access to special 7km eggs containing the following Pokémon during the event, and during the early access Eggs-stravanga:
Tier 1 Rarity
Tier 2 Rarity
Tier 5 Rarity
🎟️ Ticket Holders ONLY will have access to 4 different Collection Challenges, one for each Habitat available during Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global.
🎟️ Party Play challenges exclusive to Pokémon GO Fest will be available to ticket-holding Trainers. Work together with friends to earn encounters with Pikachu wearing a Sun Tiara and Pikachu wearing a Moon Tiara!

How much these particular bonuses, spawns, and extras are worth to you is entirely down to the individual. Tickets cost $14.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees.
I like to look at a ticket for an event for how many hours it took me to earn that money, vs how many hours of enjoyment that ticket will give me. In this case, looking at minimum wage in my country (the UK) which is £11.44, vs the cost of this ticket which is £13.99. So the average person will work just over an hour and to be able to afford this ticket, for 16 hours of total play time across the two days. I personally consider that a worthwhile trade off, but others may not, and it may be a lot more expensive in other countries.
Are you planning to play Global GO Fest, and if so, free or ticketed? Let us know!
