Vaporeon is a Tier 3 Raid Boss in Pokemon GO with 15985 Raid Boss CP. Vaporeon is soloable. Best Vaporeon counters are strong Electric and Grass type Pokemon like Raikou, Zapdos, Electivire, Thunderbolt Mewtwo Roserade and Venusaur.
Vaporeon can have the following CP values when caught in a post raid capture encounter:
- 1699 – 1779 CP in normal weather conditions
- 2124 – 2225 CP in rainy weather for weather boosts.
Vaporeon is not a super difficult fight and most teams with level 30 counters can finish the fight in around 130 seconds (+- 10 seconds in lag spikes). Given how easy and readily available Pokemon like Raikou and Zapdos were in the past, we expect you won’t have any problems here.

Vaporeon Raid Counters Explained
Vaporeon is a cakewalk if you’re super effective against it and have decent counters. Before joining a raid make sure you are using Pokémon with proper movesets. Vaporeon takes Super Effective damage from electric and grass type Movesets, due to its water type.
Without much fuss, anything with Electric moves or Solar Beam is a great choice against Vaporeon. Your best bet will be Raikou, by far. Especially in the rain, however plenty of other attackers exist that can match up closely, including aforementioned Zapdos, both variety of Exeggutor, Frenzy Plant Venusaur, and Sceptile.
Weather Effects
Vaporeon only has water moves, which makes it easy to plan for as it can only be boosted, and therefore harder, in the Rainy weather. Meanwhile, your attackers can see boosts in both the Rainy weather , for Electric types, and in Sunny weather, for Grass counters. This makes it best to hit Vaporeon in the clear, as it can only suffer disadvantages more and not receive a boost itself.
