Mega Abomasnow is an Ice/Grass type Pokémon, making it double weak to Fire type attacks. It’s a decently strong Mega Evolution boasting a high TDO (Total Damage Output) and is particularly useful against Raid bosses that are double weak to Ice attacks.

It is quite possible to duo Mega Abomasnow in Sunny or Sunny weather, particularly with the use of mega evolved Fire type Pokémon. In all other cases, around 3-5 trainers with strong and high level Fire type Pokémon can take down Mega Abomasnow with relative ease, no matter what the weather in the game is like.

This write-up will serve as a comprehensive guide to successfully beating Mega Abomasnow in the raid with the best counters, its catch CP range, the stats, and the moveset of Mega Abomasnow.

How to Get Mega Abomasnow

You cannot catch Abomasnow in its mega evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Abomasnow.

Abomasnow can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 1148 – 1349 CP at level 20, no weather boost
  • 1436 – 1687 CP at level 25 with Sunny, Sunny, or Snow weather boost

In order to get Mega Abomasnow, you will need 200 Mega Energy for the initial evolution, then 40 Mega Energy to evolve the same Abomasnow again in the future. Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Abomasnow Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Abomasnow, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Snover or Abomasnow to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.
