Mega Raichu Y is an Electric type Super Mega Raid boss. Best Mega Raichu X raid counters include powerful Ground types. Super Mega Raids require a minimum of 8 Trainers to defeat them, and each Trainer will need to have a Mega Pokémon in their team.
You cannot catch Raichu in its Mega evolved from the Raid. The Mega Raid Boss is always catchable in its base form and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Raichu. Raichu can be caught with the following CP values:
- From 1180 CP to 1247 CP, with no weather boost
- From 1476 CP to 1558 CP with Rainy weather boost
This guide will tell you how to beat this brainy Mega, as well as its optimal stats, moves, and CP range.
Be aware that in Super Mega Raids you must bring a Mega Pokémon. Not bringing a Mega-evolved Pokémon will hurt your team and result in an instant defeat, as you will not be able to break all the Shields.
For Mega Pokémon, we recommend the strongest one you have, but any Mega will suffice to break a Shield. Mega Garchomp is excellent, as is Mega Mewtwo Y.
Recommended Megas
Primal Pokémon cannot be used to break shields in Super Mega Raids, so we do not recommend using them as counters. This specifically means do not bring a Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre to these Raids.

Super Mega Raid Information
During Super Mega Raids the Mega Pokémon can become enraged, and even used shields that dramatically reduce the amount of damage they take. You’ll have to work together to take down these shields, but each Trainer can only take down one shield.
- Once the Mega Pokémon boss activates a shield, a Mega Pokémon from your Raid team will be automatically sent into the battle.
- Your next attack by your Mega Pokémon will be significantly more powerful than usual, allowing you to break down the bosses shield!
Once you and your fellow Trainers have broken enough shields the Raid Boss will return to it’s normal state and you will be able to do normal damage again.

Shiny Sprites
Like all Mega Raid Bosses, you can catch the shiny version of Raichu from a Raid. The odds of getting a shiny Raichu are 1 in 10 Raids. Here are the sprites for normal Raichu and Mega Raichu Y.
