Numel is currently featured as a Tier 1 raid boss in Pokémon GO, and it can be caught with the following CP values:
- 557 – 604 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
- 697 – 755 CP at Level 25 with Sunny weather boost
It is an Fire & Ground type, which makes it weak to Water (x2) and Ground type moves. And yes, it can be shiny, but it is a full odd shiny.
Numel Raid Counters
Whenever the shadow variant of a Pokémon listed below is available in the game, it is strongly recommended to use it over its regular/purified counterpart. However, since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to TM away Frustration, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article.
Numel best raid counters are listed below, according to our Pokémon GO DB battle simulator:

Numel has a glaring 4x weakness to Water type moves, so it’s strongly recommended to use Pokémon that take advantage of that fact. If you don’t have any of the Pokémon listed above powered up, you can always use:
- “Generalist” Pokémon such as Psycho Cut + Psystrike* Mewtwo
- Eevolutions capable of dealing super effective damage such as Vaporeon
- Other heavy-hitting megas
But please, try to use the Pokémon listed above if possible.

Numel and Camerupt are unfortunately pretty bad Pokémon in Pokémon GO. PvE-wise, even Mega Camerupt is expected to be a Flareon-tier fire type attacker at best, and it doesn’t even have access to a ground type fast move so just forget about using it as a ground type attacker in raids.
Their movesets are also quite bad for PvP purposes. And their double weakness to water type moves just makes it even harder for them to succeed.
All in all, Numel and Camerupt don’t seem to be the kind of Pokémon you should power up, at least in this game.
We hope you found this raid guide useful!
