Parasect

Parasect is currently featured as a Tier 3 raid boss in Pokémon GO as part of the Lush Jungle Event, and it can be caught with the following CP values:

• 1002 – 1062 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
• 1252 – 1328 CP at Level 25 with Sunny or Rainy weather boost

It is a Bug and Grass type Pokémon, which makes it weak to Fire (2x), Flying (2x), Ice, Rock and Poison type moves. Prepared trainers will be able to solo Parasect, but lower level trainers may need to bring a friend.

Whenever the shadow variant of a Pokémon listed below is available in the game, it is strongly recommended to use it over its regular/purified counterpart. However, since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to TM away Frustration, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article.

Parasect has plenty of counters, but if you don’t have ANY of the Pokémon listed above powered up, you can always use:

• “Generalist” Pokémon capable of dealing neutral damage such as Psycho Cut + Psystrike* Mewtwo
• Eevolutions capable of dealing super effective damage such as Flareon
• Other heavy-hitting megas

But please, try to use the Pokémon listed above if possible and take advantage of Parasect’s double weakness to fire and flying type move.

Unfortunately, Parasect is just a Dex filler at the moment. Its weaknesses hold it back in GBL and as you can imagine by looking at its stats, Parasect is not a great attacker to use in raids either.

Will it ever shine in a restricted PVP cup? The fact that it has mostly been used as a meme pick in some restricted formats such as the Love Cup speaks for itself.
