Power Leveling for New Trainers

If you are just starting out as a new Pokémon GO trainer it’s wise to invest in a few Lucky Eggs and speed up your leveling process by utilizing our “Lucky Egg spam” power leveling technique that’s described below.

Why invest in Lucky Eggs?

As we all know, a Lucky Egg doubles your experience for 30 minutes, which means that every action you take, is potentially worth double. For example, every new Pokémon you discover will give you 1000 EXP instead of 500 EXP. Add the Nice Throw bonus to it, and you’re at 1200 EXP already.

The main strategy is to walk around your town, catching every Pokémon you see, while focusing on the Pokémon’s that you haven’t caught before. New Pokémons will be shown as a Pokémon silhouette in the lower right corner of your PokémonGO application where all nearby Pokémon’s are shown.

We prepared a handy “rewards and requirements per level” table (up to Level 15) to help you calculate how many Levels you would gain if you used a Lucky Egg and went discovering Pokémons – do note we do not provide any numbers for the amount of Pokemon you would catch, as it depends on your region, zone and the number of PokeStops around you!

If you manage to get from Level 1 to Level 9 while using your first Lucky Egg, you are recovering your expense to buy the first Lucky Egg, as one of the rewards on Level 9 is a another Lucky Egg. You need 36000 EXP for Level 9, which means catching around 30-40 unique Pokemon while using Lucky Egg. Here’s a breakdown

  • Level 1 to Level 9 = 36 000 EXP
    • Each new Pokemon 1000 EXP – 1200 EXP
    • Projected number of Pokemons caught:
      • 30 – 40

15 15,000 100,000 Hyper Potions Great Ball x15, Hyper Potion x20, Revive x10, Razz Berry x10, Incense, Lucky Egg, Egg Incubator, Lure Module

On our first day using this strategy, we caught 50 different Pokémon’s which netted us a whooping total of 50.000 EXP and boosted us all the way to Level 11. Of course, this may be an extreme example as every Pokemon we caught was a new Pokémon, but still – 50 Pokemon while a Lucky Egg is activated nets you a Level 11 account with all of the rewards mentioned in the table above.

Using a bike or a car to move from one part of city to another after you discover all of the new Pokémon’s in the zone is recommended since it will save you time and Lucky Eggs.
