You cannot catch Groudon in its primal evolved form from the raid. The Primal raid boss is always catchable in its base form, and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Groudon.
Groudon can be caught with the following CP values:
- 2260 – 2351 CP no weather boost
- 2825 – 2939 CP boosted by Sunny weather boost
In order to get Primal Groudon, you will need 400 Primal Energy for the initial evolution, then 80 Mega Energy to evolve the same Groudon again in the future. If you wait for their ‘cooldown’ period to end, Primal Evolution is free. This cooldown period is shorter the higher mega level your Primal Pokémon is. Primal Energy can be obtained via Primal Groudon Raids, and once you have evolved Primal Groudon, you can earn 100 Primal Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Groudon to earn Primal Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Primal Pokédex.
