Pokémon Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon and special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of October. Pumpkaboo Spotlight Hour takes place today, October 17, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with 2× Evolution XP bonus.
This Spotlight Hour is the third October 2023 Pokémon spotlight, and it is especially interesting as Pumpkaboo can be shiny (released during Pokémon GO Harvest Festival 2023) and you will get 2x Stardust on catch! In other words, this is a great time to farm Stardust!
Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared to use Star Piece to increase their Stardust yield to 300 Stardust per Pumpkaboo caught. Here’s everything you need to know!

Pumpkaboo
Pumpkaboo is a Ghost and Grass-type Pokémon. Pumpkaboo is weak to Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, and Ice-type moves. Pumpkaboo has a Max CP of 1359 in Pokémon GO, it is weather boosted by Fog and Sunny weather, and it was originally found in the Kalos region. Shiny Pumpkaboo is available in Pokémon GO.
Gourgeist evolves from Pumpkaboo which costs 200 Candy, or 0 Candy if Pumpkaboo was obtained through a Trade.

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Pumpkaboo if they are Mega/Primal evolved.
Gourgeist
Gourgeist is a not a highly rated Pokémon in Pokémon GO’s meta, as its hybrid Grass and Ghost type provides very good coverage in GO Battle League, but its moves are very strange, and it is often overshadowed by the likes of Trevenant.
In Gym and Raid Battles, Gourgeist also doesn’t fare great. When compared to other Ghost types, it’s performance is mediocre with Hex and Shadow Ball, especially compared to Gengar, Giratina and Banette, let alone comparing it to Megas.
As a Grass type, Gourgeist is even less appealing, as there are so many other good Grass-types which you should prioritise.
Don’t spend Candy on evolving and Stardust on power ups, your resources are better used elsewhere. Shiny Pumpkaboo is worth keeping just for the sake of having it.
