Sealeo is now available in Tier 3 raids in Pokémon GO and you should have no problem taking it down as it is an easy raid boss to defeat. The only concern is Ice type moves against Grass type counters, so be prepared. Lower level trainers, or those without optimal counters, may want to bring a pal.
After the raid, Sealeo can be caught with the following CP values
- 920 – 979 CP, at Level 20 with no weather boost
- 1151 – 1225 CP, at Level 25 with weather boost, during Rainy and Snow weather conditions
Sealeo is an Ice and Water type Pokémon. Even though it has a shiny variant in the game, Sealeo encountered from raid battles won’t be able to be shiny.
Sealeo Counters
Since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to remove Frustration with a Charge TM, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article. That being said, if you have the shadow form of a listed raid counter Pokémon powered up and TMed, use it. The figures in our database for DPS and TDO are calculated using Level 40 Pokémon with perfect IVs.
The best counters for Sealeo are the following:

Sealeo is a bit of a bulky Pokémon so it will require teamwork to take it down. But as long as you have good counters, it should be pretty easy to defeat. For example, low-leveled trainers might need 4-6 Pokémon to take it down but for higher-leveled trainers, it should only be a matter of 1-3 Pokémon being used.

Sealeo’s evolution, Walrein is a very good Pokémon for PVP(GL and UL specifically) so doing these raids might be helpful in terms of getting candy and XL for its evolution.
And that’s all, Good luck with your Sealeo raids, and until next time, trainers!
