Weedle, Kakuna and Beedrill Spotlight Hour takes place on September 10th, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with 2× Transfer Candy bonus. Pokémon Spotlight Hour feature a different Pokémon and a special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of September.
This Spotlight Hour is the first September 2026 Pokémon spotlight. It is especially interesting as Weedle can be shiny, there is a chance for its evos to spawn in the wild and you will get 2x Candy on transfer – it’s a great time to have a clear out of your Pokémon storage post GO Fest Mega Finale!

This event falls within the Mega Squads Event, which allows Mega Beedrill to reach the new Super Max Mega Level, unlocking powerful additional Charged Attacks while Mega Evolved. It’s a great chance to potentially get your hands on a high IV Mega Beedrill!

Beedrill will now be able to use an additional Charged Attack, Fell Stinger+, when it’s Mega Evolved.
- Trainer Battles: 40 power and increases Attack by one stage
- Raid Battles: 140 power
The power of this attack will increase with the Pokémon’s Mega Level.
Note on Transfer Bonus
If you do not want to catch the featured Pokémon, you can make use of the 2x Transfer Candy bonus in other ways:
- You can try transferring any saved Scatterbug, opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag!
- This is a great opportunity to clear out your storage, transfer Legendary Pokémon you have been clinging onto, and rare Pokémon you need more candy for.

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus
While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.
If you get your hands on a good IV Weedle it is absolutely worth evolving it! Having a decent Mega Beedrill is great for raid battles and the mega energy is pretty easy to come across.
