Following Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, the Mega Squads event kicks off the new Twilight Trails Season from Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 14, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The event introduces Maschiff and Mabosstiff to Pokémon GO, alongside the debut of Shiny Flamigo. Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom can also reach the new Super Max Mega Level, unlocking powerful additional Charged Attacks while Mega Evolved.
Mega Squads also features a special GO Pass, boosted Shiny rates for Pidgey and Carvanha, event-themed Field Research, 5 km Eggs, Mega Raids, Spotlight Hours, and more.
Mega Squads Event Bonuses
The following bonuses are active during the Pokémon GO Mega Finale event:

Maschiff and Mabosstiff Debut
Maschiff
Maschiff, the Rascal Pokémon, and Mabosstiff, the Boss Pokémon, will make their Pokémon GO debuts. You might find Maschiff in Eggs, Field Research, or via the GO Pass.
You can use 50 Maschiff Candy to evolve Maschiff into Mabosstiff.
Shiny Flamigo Debuts
For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Flamigo! You may encounter Flamigo in the wild, or when you complete GO Pass and Field Research tasks. You may also hatch Flamigo from Eggs. Here are what the shiny forms look like vs the regular forms:
Super Max Mega Level Debuts for Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom
Starting with the Mega Squads event, Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom can reach the new Super Max Mega Level for the first time in Pokémon GO. Pokémon that reach Super Max can unlock an additional Charged Attack while Mega Evolved.
Remember: You must increase a Pokémon’s Mega Level to the third level, Max, before you can increase it to Super Max.
To help your Pokémon reach Super Max Level, Mega Evolving alone won’t be enough, you’ll need to use that Pokémon’s Mega Energy to power it up. Participate in Mega Raids and catch Weedle, Pidgey, Houndour, and Carvanha during this event to earn lots of Mega Energy to help complete this task.
Mega Beedrill
Mega Beedrill
Beedrill will now be able to use an additional Charged Attack, Fell Stinger+, when it’s Mega Evolved.
- Trainer Battles: 40 power and increases Attack by one stage
- Raid Battles: 140 power
The power of this attack will increase with the Pokémon’s Mega Level.
Mega Houndoom
Mega Houndoom
Houndoom will now be able to use an additional Charged Attack, Dark Pulse+, when it’s Mega Evolved.
- Trainer Battles: 60 power
- Raid Battles: 150 power
The power of this attack will increase with the Pokémon’s Mega Level.

GO Pass: Mega Squad Ranks and Rewards
From Tuesday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe for Mega Squads will be available in Pokémon GO. GO Pass is a free, limited-time progression track available during a specified period. By collecting GO Points, you can increase your rank to earn rewards.
Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: Mega Squads on Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. local time
You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time
Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass will expire on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, so be sure to claim your rewards before they expire.
