Dynamax Electivire Analysis: Shockingly Decent Attacker!

Our second June Max Monday has introduced Dynamax Electivire to our rosters so let’s take a look at whether our new electric friend is worth grinding for! Electabuzz is a tier 3 max battle and costs 400 max particles to participate, see our guide for this here.

Electivire as an Attacker

Electivire is currently only available as a Dynamax, so is obviously outclassed by it’s Gigantamax Electric counterpart, Toxtricity. However it does have a very respectable attack stat of 249, just a few points lower than the legendary Pokémon Zapdos and actually a few more than the other legendary Electric Dynamax Pokémon, Raikou! This is really quite decent, and means Electivire represents a very accessible budget option as an electric attacker. It also has a fighting type fast move, and obviously Gigantamax Machamp is superior however it still performs surprisingly well in this role despite not having STAB. So even though it is not top tier, Electivire is definitely worth farming somewhat especially if you do not have access to the aforementioned Gigantamax options.

Electivire as a Defender

Electivire has the 0.5 second moves Thunder Shock and Low Kick available which does make it a viable defender. Unfortunately Electivire is not blessed with an amazing Defence or HP stat and it’s resistances are limited to Electric type icon, Flying type icon and Steel type icon. These are all covered by much better defender Pokémon such as Registeel, Latias and Duraludon and it will not really see much use as a defender

Electivire as a Healer

As mentioned above Electivire does not boast a great HP stat which is key for healers in max battles. If you didn’t already know, Blissey is the undisputed queen of healing and Electivire is certainly not a threat to that crown!!

Conclusion

Electivire is certainly a versatile budget attacker that is definitely worth farming, especially for those without access to Gigantamax Pokemon. The story isn’t so great as a defender or healer. However the orange shiny is very cool and as you all know , we gotta catch ’em all! Happy hunting everyone!
