A Pokemon youtuber named PDWinnall has shared a curious tweet last night (European time), claiming that Meltan and Melmetal base stats have leaked.
Although we do not have the means to verify PDW’s claims, Winnall has proven as a verifiable and accurate source of Pokemon Sun and Moon information. PDWinnall is also the host of the Elite Four Podcast, which frequently featured other Pokemon Youtube personalities and Serebii.net. Additionally, we found supporting sources that confirm that Pokemon Let’s Go is being actively data mined – sorry, but we won’t be sharing these.
According to PDWinnall, these are the base stats for Meltan and Melmetal:
Meltan | Melmetal | |
---|---|---|
HP | 46 | 135 |
Attack | 65 | 143 |
Defense | 65 | 143 |
Sp. Atk. | 55 | 80 |
Sp. Def. | 35 | 65 |
Speed | 34 | 34 |
Total | 300 | 600 |
We will refrain from going super deep on how these stats will look in the Pokemon GO’s stat system, as few things are still unclear:
- Will Niantic use the new, or the old stats formula?
- Will Niantic apply a 9% stat nerf to Melmetal?
If these do apply, a perfect Melmetal at level 40 will have CP 3573 with base attack of 226, base defense of 190 and base stamina of 260. Will it be relevant in the Pokemon GO meta game? That highly depends on it’s move pool rather than stats.

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee are scheduled for release on November 16, 2018 – next Friday. If you are on the fence on buying them, be on the lookout for our guide to Pokemon Let’s Go for Pokemon GO players before purchasing. 60 USD is not exactly pocket change and we want to be straight with our readers when it comes to these games. But that’s a story for a different time.
Also, be on the lookout for a Pokemon GO update this week. We haven’t spotted Nintendo Switch related code in the APK, so we’re expecting an update this Tuesday or Wednesday.
