Trainers participating in the Wild Area Fukuoka 2024 event have now had their chance to try out the new Safari Balls and to catch the first Mighty Pokémon. To everyone’s great surprise, Mighty Pokémon are even mightier and cooler than we initially thought!
According to early reports, this is what we know about Mighty Pokémon:
- Mighty Pokémon can be caught in the Level 40-45 range if they are not weather boosted, and in the Level 45-50 range if they are weather boosted!
- Additionally, the minimal IVs for Mighty Pokémon are 13/13/13!
- Mighty Pokémon can be shiny ✨
- They are very aggressive and hard to catch
A Trainer named Nikaidou_Shinku (level 50) posted screenshots of Mighty Pokémon in the wild, the encounter itself, and how their catches look like. Get ready for a wild Garchomp with 4157 CP!
According to Nikaidou, Mighty Pokémon are very aggressive and have low catch rate as stated in the official blog, so using Safari Balls (and Nanab Berries) will probably be the best strategy to catch them. Another player called @Hackerboy shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) that shows the full encounter with a Mighty Shiny Venusaur!
Another Trainer called notrob shared that his first Mighty Pokémon was a Level 50 Venusaur, and that his first Raid was a Toxtricity with special background:
This is the first time in Pokémon GO that you can catch Wild Pokémon that are stronger than level 35, which was the previous highest level at which you could catch a Pokémon in the wild. This is very, very exciting, and we can’t wait to try it out during Pokémon GO Wild Area 2024: Global next week!
