Ways to Collect Mega Energy
Mega Energy can be obtained in the following ways:
- Trainers can collect the most Mega Energy by defeating a Mega-Evolved Pokémon in a Mega Raid Battle.
- You can also occasionally earn Mega Energy by walking with your Buddy Pokémon if you have previously Mega-Evolved a Pokémon in your Buddy Pokémon’s Evolutionary line.
Please note: You will need to collect separate Mega Energy X or Mega Energy Y to Mega Evolve Pokémon that can Mega Evolve into both an X or Y form. For example, to Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard X, you will need to collect Charizard Mega Energy X.
How to Increase Your Pokémon’s Mega Level
Once you’ve Mega Evolved a Pokémon for the first time, it’s possible to Mega Evolve them without using Mega Energy. You can increase Mega Levels of a Pokémon in the following ways:
- By Mega Evolving that Pokémon multiple times.
- By using significant amounts of Mega Energy to instantly level it up.
While we don’t have the stats for these new moves yet, it is evident that these additions would bring monumental changes to the meta. Some surprises in store might be:
- Mega Garchomp Z with Draco Meteor+ becoming a stronger Dragon-type attacker than Mega Garchomp, which didn’t receive a Dragon-type Mega Plus move.
- Mega Charizard X finally becoming a top-tier Dragon Pokémon.
- A heated rivalry between Mega Charizard Y, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Delphox for a claim to the Fire-type throne.
- Similarly, both Mega Lucario variants are eyeing the Fighting championship.
- Mega Absol Z and Mega Gengar vying for the Ghost-type crown depending on whose move ends up being better.
- Dragon Ascent+ making Mega Rayquaza the undisputed king of types, no matter the competition.
- Mega Baxcalibur making White Kyurem an afterthought in the Ice meta.
Regardless of the exact numbers, it goes without saying that Mega Evolutions will be the top Raid counters, easily putting Shadows and Legendaries on the back seat. Moreover, soloing high-tier Raids will be simpler than ever.
As always, datamined features can change before release. None of these Additional Mega Charged Attacks have been officially confirmed, and they are subject to change.
