Pokémon GO is introducing the event calendar which aims to be a new central location for discovering, learning more about, and planning your participation in events and community meetups. The Today View has also been streamlined with the intention of keep your daily goals more central and focused.
You can access the new event calendar by tapping the calendar icon in the lower right corner of the map screen. From here, you’ll be able to see events that are happening now, or coming soon. You can then tap on an event to see the details!
Use the drop-down menu to filter by categories. You’ll be able to discover in-person Meetups hosted by Community Ambassadors by
tapping ‘Join a Meetup’. After you RSVP to a Meetup, you can edit your RSVP or even check in directly via the event calendar to gain access to Meetup Check-in Timed Research.
Meetup Check-in Timed Research is an exclusive Timed Research is available at events hosted by a Community Ambassador (distinguishable by a purple star badge). Events that offer these rewards will also have a “Rewards” icon on their invite. You’ll need to RSVP and check-in to official event Meetups or Meetups hosted by Community Ambassadors and other select partners to earn a special Meetup Check-in Timed Research in Pokémon GO.
There are two ways to view nearby meetups:
- Via the Pokémon GO Map: Tap the green map icon near the right corner of your in-game map to access Campfire features directly. From here, you can zoom into your area to see active meetup markers.
- Via the Campfire App: Open the standalone Campfire app to browse a list of local events or search for groups run by Community Ambassadors.
Web Calendar
If you’d prefer to see the event calendar on a bigger screen, you’ll be able to visit the Events website and log in with your Pokémon GO account information to browse through upcoming events and Meetups. While logged in, you can manage your Meetups, and any
changes you make on the site will automatically sync with Pokémon GO.
The updated Today View now focuses on your Field Research, Daily Activities, and GO Passes. You can scroll and swipe through these menus
to track your progress. The ‘Happening Now’ section previously in Today View has been moved to the event calendar
