Niantic has issued a compensation package for Trainers who bought an accidentally released GO Fest 2024 ticket on August 21, 2024. The accidental ticket was released a month after GO Fest ended, by mistake, and it contained different bonuses, including an encounter with Toxtricity.
The ticket was swiftly rolled back and removed from the in-game Store, but there were still Trainers who used the opportunity to buy this ticket. After all, it seemed like a great opportunity to get another Marshadow, Toxtricity, and Jangmo-o.
Today, Niantic sent the following message in-game to affected Trainers, sharing that they will get a free ticket to the Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global event.
Trainer,
You are receiving this message because the ticket you purchased on August 21, 2024, was released by accident and has since been removed from your inventory.
As an apology for any confusion, we will give you a complimentary ticket to the Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global event. You can claim this free ticket from the in-game shop starting on September 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. PDT, and it will be available until the end of the GO Wild Area: Global event on November 24, 2024. It must be claimed to use it.
You are entitled to a refund, which you can request from the App Store. Regardless of whether or not you request a refund, you will still be able to claim a free GO Wild Area:
- Global ticket from the in-game shop.
You can request a refund by following the steps listed here.
It seems that Niantic’s compensation game is on top these days! Kudos where kudos are due. If you are among the affected Trainers, please check your in-game news. If you are not, still check the news, maybe Niantic accidentally sent it to everyone (they didn’t, but you never know)!
