Celebrate 30 years of Pokémon with the Pokémon 30th Anniversary event: Kanto! Taking place from Tuesday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 9, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time we return to the Kanto region with a special GO Pass, raids and more!
This event is a precursor to the Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out event during which you will be able to encounter almost all Pokémon ever released in Pokémon GO!
You may encounter any Pokémon first discovered in the Kanto region (except for Mewtwo and Mew) based on their natural habitat!

- Pokémon such as Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros will continue to appear only in certain regions of the world.
Excluded Pokémon
Mewtwo and Mew are not available in Wild Encounters. Mewtwo is available from the GO Pass: Pokémon 30th Anniversary. Mew is available from the All-in-One #151 Masterwork Research.
Ditto are also changing into different Pokémon in the wild during the event! Here is a list of confirmed disguises, more are possible:
Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available. Complete field research tasks to earn Rare Candy, a Silver Pinap Berry, a Golden Razz Berry, or the following Pokémon.

Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: Pokémon 30th Anniversary on Tuesday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Monday, March 9, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Additionally, from Saturday, March 7, at 12:00 a.m. to Monday, March 9, at 7:59 p.m. local time, there’s no daily limit for how many GO Points you can earn.
Upgrading to GO Pass Deluxe
- For US$7.99 or your countries equivalent, Trainers can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe, a paid version of the GO Pass that offers upgraded rewards and faster progression.
- For US$9.9 or your countries equivalent, Trainers can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe + 10 Ranks to also automatically earn enough GO Points to reach Rank 11.
While progressing through the GO Pass Deluxe, you’ll be able to claim all of the rewards from both the free GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe. You can upgrade to a GO Pass Deluxe at any time and still collect rewards from previously unlocked ranks.

The GO Pass Deluxe, the paid version of the GO Pass, will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store soon. Your GO Pass Deluxe purchased via the Pokémon GO Web Store will activate as soon as the GO Pass begins.
