Pokémon GO Is Testing a Monthly Pass Called Reward Road in New Zealand

Trainers, Niantic is testing a new feature in New Zealand, called Reward Road, which is essentially a monthly reward pass. Each purchase you make in the in-game shop earns Reward Road points which can be exchanged for rewards.

Here is how the feature looks like in action (big shoutout to CMDR Ulysses Jack):

There are 10 different levels of rewards you can get:

  • 5 Points: Team Rocket Admin Stickers
  • 50 Points; 1 Premium Battle Pass
  • 100 Points: 1 Incense, 2 Stickers
  • 225 Points: 1 Lucky Egg & 1 Star Piece
  • 475 Points: 2 Lure Module, 3 Sticker & 5 Sticker
  • 750 Points: 2 Egg Incubators, 2 Incense and 2 Stickers
  • 1100 Points: 4 Premium battle Pass, 3 Max Revive and 3 Max Potion
  • 1500 Points; 4 Egg Incubators, 3 Lucky Egg & 3 Golden Razz Berry
  • 2000 Points: 4 Premium Battle Pass & 4 Egg Incubators
  • 3000 Points: 6 Premium Battle Passes, 6 Egg Incubators and 6 Stickers

Serebii has shared that Reward Points are obtained with eligible purchases made using currency and not by exchanges using PokéCoins.

They expire each month, not carrying over and any unclaimed Points at the start of the month will be lost. You get 30 Points with the Eggs-pedition Ticket for the month.

Here are a few screenshots of the feature, as provided by our readers on X:

The official description says this about the Reward Road track:

Current period resets on 1 January at 11:00 AM.

The Reward Road is a monthly reward program where Trainers can earn Reward Points with eligible purchases every month.* Earn a certain amount of Reward Points to level up the Reward Road and unlock rewards!

1. Make an eligible purchase to earn Reward Points.*
2. Unlock rewards by earning Reward Points.
3. Visit our website to learn how to claim unlocked rewards.**

*Only purchases made with real-world currency count toward Reward Road progress. Exchanges made using PokéCoins will not grant Reward Points.

**Reward Points expire at the end of the calendar month. Even if a Trainer claims every reward, Reward Points will not carry over between months. Trainers using child accounts are not eligible to participate in the Reward Road program. Reward Points are not cash or any other currency, and they are non-transferable between accounts. Reward Road program availability and terms are subject to change.

For more details, visit the website.

At this time, we don’t have additional information about Reward Road, outside of what has been reported by New Zealanders. Niantic hasn’t provided any official materials on this experiment, so we can only speculate at this moment. If you know something more, our e-mail is always open: [email protected]
