Showcase Rewards Quietly Buffed After Early Complaints

Pokémon GO Showcase rewards have been buffed after early complaints, with Trainers now reporting better drops like Lures, Star Pieces, and Incubators. Here’s what changed.

Trainers, with the start of the Memories in Motion season, Pokémon GO Showcases have shifted from their familiar multi-day format to a fixed weekly schedule, now taking place exclusively on Tuesdays.

Alongside this change, Showcase rewards were also “adjusted”, initially offering noticeably fewer items compared to the previous multi-day format. Fortunately, it appears that Scopely is already walking that back, as Trainers are now reporting improved rewards across the board!

Showcase Rewards Have Been Buffed

Like we said, after the initial rollout of the new format, Trainers quickly noticed that rewards didn’t feel on par with previous Showcases. Early results suggested fewer premium items and less overall value, especially for top placements.

That now appears to have changed.

Recent reports from the community indicate that rewards have been buffed, with players receiving items much closer to what multi-day Showcases used to offer.

Reported rewards now include:

  • Lure Modules
  • Star Pieces
  • Silver Pinap Berries
  • Egg Incubators
  • XP and Stardust

While the new format still has its issues, this improvement at least brings Showcase rewards back into a much more worthwhile state.

Current Showcase Rules Explained

With the move to a fixed format, Showcases now follow a much more predictable structure than before. Here’s a quick breakdown of how they currently work:

  • Pokestop icon PokéStop Showcases are active on Tuesdays, featuring up to 20 different categories.
  • Schedule: Showcases now take place every Tuesday only
  • Timing: Active from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time
  • Format: Focused on Pokémon types (e.g. Water, Fire) and Size and Buddy-based requirements
  • Scoring: Primarily based on size, with larger Pokémon scoring higher
  • Entries: Trainers can still enter Pokémon at participating PokéStops as before

Unlike previous Showcases, which were often tied to events or newly released Pokémon, the current system rotates through more standardized categories each week.
