There have been reports that the Mythical Pokémon Mew has been spotted in many Research Areas in Pokémon Sleep! Mew might show up in photos when you research Pokémon sleep styles. Collect lots of Snapshot Surprise photos with Mew in them and progress through Snapshot Surprise missions to conduct more detailed research.
This month-long event is a special opportunity to complete Mew’s Snapshot Surprise missions. During this event, Mew will show up in photos when researching Pokémon sleep styles.
You can progress through Snapshot Surprise missions depending on the number of photos taken with Mew in them. There will also be various other bonuses when a Snapshot Surprise happens. Additionally, you can obtain rewards by completing Snapshot Surprise missions.

The following effects will trigger in the applicable areas during this event:
- You will be able to take Snapshot Surprise photos only during the first sleep research of the day.
- Candies gained through Snapshot Surprise ×1.25 the usual amount.
- Research EXP gained through Snapshot Surprise ×1.25 times the usual amount.
- Dream Shards gained through Snapshot Surprise +1,000 to the usual amount.
The above bonuses will only apply to sleep style photos with Mew in them.
Snapshot Surprises are photos of Pokémon sleep styles with Mew in them. During sleep research, you can collect at least one Snapshot Surprise photo per day. The greater the Drowsy Power, the easier it will be to collect Snapshot Surprise photos.
Notes
- You can still collect Snapshot Surprise photos even if you use the “Review All at Once” function.
- You cannot collect Snapshot Surprise photos on the second sleep research of the day.
- You cannot collect Snapshot Surprise photos during the tutorial.
- You can claim mission rewards until .

Once you have completed all of the Snapshot Surprise missions, Professor Neroli speculates that Mew will appear to you during your next sleep. He is right! After your next sleep session the Mythical Pokémon Mew will appear.
Much like Darkrai, you can only obtain one Mew. It will automatically be recruited to your team when you awake it from sleep. Professor Neroli will advise that Mew can appear during each New Moon Day event, and you will also be given a Eureka Seed to use on your Mew. Eureka Seeds can be used to change your Mew’s ingredients, add Sub Skills, or change Sub Skills.
Mew is a Psychic type Pokémon, whose speciality is all, meaning berries, ingredients and skills. It has the Main Skill Versatile (Metronome). This skills uses one main skill randomly from a large selection of main skills. In addition, it also gets candy for one Pokémon on your team. It can be researched during Snoozing type Sleep. It can have a variety of different ingredients: Large Leeks, Fancy Egg, Fiery Herb, Bean Sausage, Pure Oil, Greengrass Soybeans, Glossy Avocado and Slowpoke Tail. It is the first Pokémon to be able to have Large Leeks in all 3 of its ingredient slots. It will have a Quirky nature, which is neutral.
- If you wait to report sleep data tracked before the event began and select “Review Later” during the event, progress will not be made in Snapshot Surprise missions.
- If you wait to report sleep data tracked during the event and select “Review Later” while mission rewards can still be claimed (until ), progress will be made in Snapshot Surprise missions and mission rewards can be claimed.
- Progress in Snapshot Surprise missions will not be made during the tutorial.
- Normally, if overlapping events trigger more than one of the same type of bonus, the larger bonus will be applied, but during special missions, the bonuses will stack, creating a stronger effect.
