Galar Starter Pokémon Teased on Social Media

It seems that Niantic are really aiming to build the hype for the new Max Out season with a series of teaser videos on social media. The newest video teases the Starter Pokémon from Galar, or to use the official term, First Partner Pokémon. They also continue the Dynamax hints, with the tagline ‘Something big is coming’

The video shows four different Pokémon walking across a pedestrian crossing, or zebra crossing as we call them in the UK. The first three are the Galar Starters, followed by a much larger Pokémon, that looks like it could be a Dynamax Wooloo.

The Galar region is based on the UK, and the four Pokémon walking across a zebra crossing could be a nod to the iconic Beatles photo, of the four band members crossing the street for their Abbey Road album cover.

The Beatles on Abbey Road by Iain Macmillan

Grookey, the Chimp Pokémon, is a pure Grass type that evolves into Thwackey, and then finally Rillaboom.

Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon, is a pure Fire type that evolves into Raboot, and then Cinderace.

Sobble, the Water-Lizard Pokémon, is a pure Water type. It evolves into Drizzile, then Inteleon.

Each of the Galar starters keep their single typing through their evolution line, and each also has a Gigantamax form. A Gigantamax form is different from a Dynamax form, in that not only are they much larger and more powerful, but they change appearance and have special Gigantamax moves known as G-Max moves. Only some Pokémon Gigantamax, whereas every pokemon in Pokémon Sword and Shield can Dynamax.

The final Pokémon appears to be a Dynamaxed Pokémon as it is much larger than the others. We believe that it is a Dynamaxed Wooloo due to the four large smooth black feet and legs, and the white rounded belly area. Could Dynamax Wooloo be one of their first Dynamax pokemon we see in Pokémon GO?

The Galar region has long felt neglected in Pokémon GO, and the Starters were the only Starter Trio missing from Pokémon GO. Hopefully this means they may be among the first new Pokémon to debut in the Max Out season starting in early September. What other Galar Pokémon do you hope to see soon?
