Also known as the “Whiskers Pokémon”, Pokemon GO Barboach and Pokemon GO Whiscash (Max CP: 1991) are water ground types, being actually the third Pokemon family to have this dual type alongside Marshtomp (Gen III) and Quagsire (Gen II).
Whiscash has a max CP of 1991. When compared to other Pokemon families with this typing, Whiscash has the highest STA (220), compared to Quagsire and Marshtomp. As for the rest of the stats, Whiscash is left behind. It has a low DEF (142) and below average ATK (151). Overall, this Pokémon is yet another Pokédex filler.
Where to find Barboach and Whiscash?
You can encounter Barboach and Whiscash on small and large bodies of water. Keep an eye on park ponds, lakes, the beach, medium to large size canals as they are most likely to spawn there.
Whiscash in the Pokémon GO meta
Barely making its CP on the 2k mark, Whiscash will not be joining any offensive/defensive/raiding ranks. Average stats, unremarkable moves and no clear advantage over any of the meta-defining Pokemon make Whiscash a disappointing addition to the game.
On the other had Whiscash can give a really good beating to fire and rock type opponents, but that’s about it.
Whiscash does not have any further evolution.
Pokémon GO Whiscash Moves
We expect the following moves to be a part of Whiscash move pool:
- Aqua Tail water
- Bulldoze ground
- Earthquake ground
- Mud Bomb ground
- Mud Shot ground
- Scald water
In addition, we expect that at least some of these moves will be added to Pokemon GO and eventually appear in Whiscash’s move pool:
- Earth Power ground
- Magnitude ground
- Waterfall water
- Whirlpool water
