Ralts, Kirlia and Gardevoir

pokemon go gardevoir

Ralts, Kirlia and especially Pokemon GO Gardevoir are very exciting additions to the game, but they are not the first psychic fairy introduced in Pokémon Go. The pioneer of this particular type is actually the regional exclusive Mr. Mime.

Stat wise, Gardevoir will definitely have a shot at the Top 10 Pokémon in Pokémon GO. It has a very high Max CP (2964) and its ATK (237) and DEF (220) top a lot of First and Second Generation competitors. The only stat that holds Gardevoir back is its below average STA (136).

If you bring Gardevoir’s typing in the mix, you get a great Attacker, mostly comparable to Pokémon GO Alakazam, but much better.

Ralts and Gardevoir made their television debut on the 383rd episode of the Pokémon series (Advanced Generation: Episode 109) titled, “Do I Hear a Ralts?”. Kirlia made its television debut on the 6th Pokémon movie “Pokémon: Jirachi: Wish Maker”.

Gardevoir in the Pokémon GO metagame

We already stated that Gardevoir has a very high CP (2964), backed with high ATK (237) and high DEF (220). It’s possible that it can climb up the Gym meta tier lists and threaten a number of currently available Attackers and Defenders.

Given it’s amazing typing, Gardevoir is lining up to become a truly amazing Dragonite killer. Forget your Wigglytuff, a Gardevoir with Fairy moveset will ram any Dragonite to the ground.

Of course, a successful Gardevoir needs to dodge in Pokémon GO. There is no escaping from its measly STAMINA (136), so proper dodging is a must.

If you take a look on the other Pokémon games, Gardevoir’s Speed is rather good. We hope Niantic will value this and enable Gardevoir to move fast during gym battles, making it easy to evade opponents’ attack.

With that said, if everything turns out as expected, Gardevoir will not be just a Pokédex filler. It will be a staple Dragon counter, in the same fashion as Jolteon counters Water types.

Gardevoir Moves in Pokémon Go

With high ATK and DEF, there are some interesting moves that would back up these great stats. We are especially looking forward to the “ultimate Gardevoir” glass cannon, with dual fairy moves.

Here are some of Gardevoir’s possible listed moves:

  • Dazzling Beam fairy
  • Draining Kiss fairy
  • Play Right fairy
  • Psychic psychic
  • Future Sight psychic

And here are some possible moves that we might see for Gardevoir, if they get added to Pokémon GO:

  • Synchronoise psychic
  • Hyper Voice normal
  • Echoed Voice normal
  • Giga Impact normal
  • Moon Blast fairy
