Mega Pokémon that boost Gastly

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Gastly if they are Mega/Primal evolved. We highly recommend Mega Evolving a Pokémon during this event to get as much candy as possible!

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it Worth Evolving Gastly?

PVE

Mega Gengar is a top tier raid attacker, so if you have a decent IV Gastly and some mega energy stored up it is absolutely worth it!

PVP

With such a strong moveset that became even grander with the addition of Shadow Punch during Gastly Community DayGengar is a legitimate threat in PvP that can spook out many heavyweights in this meta 👻

🔵 Great League – The wide coverage of Gengar’s excellent Ghost-type moves makes it pretty resourceful in the Great LeagueNote that it absolutely needs Shadow Punch, since the 35 energy move helps it bait shields 🔰

🟡 Ultra League – This is Gengar’s best PvP showing and it relies heavily on baiting opponent’s shields while dealing high damage. Moreover, Shadow Ball ensures a scary nuke move when shields are down 😎

However, the prominence of Giratina (Altered) and Cresselia, as well as other Ghost and Psychic types, makes it a difficult day at the office for Gengar 🫣

This requires you to create teams that are heavily inclined towards protecting Gengar against its weaknesses, often causing inconvenienceIn a nutshell, it fares extremely well against a lot of matchups but suffers otherwise.

🟣 Master League – Gengar is unfortunately dampened by inferior stats and performance when compared to the usual suspects in the Master League.

Duskull Fact Sheet

Duskull

Duskull is a Ghost-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO, with a maximum Combat Power of 798 CP. Duskull best moveset in Pokémon GO is Hex and Ominous Wind. Shiny Duskull is available in Pokémon GO. Duskull is boosted by Fog weather.

Duskull is weak to Dark and Ghost moves. It is strong against Bug, Poison, Fighting, and Normal moves.

Mega Pokémon that boost Duskull

Is it Worth Evolving Duskull?

PVE

Dusknoir is bulky, very bulky. Nothing else is in its favor though! 🤷

⚔️ Raids – Despite its bulk, Dusknoir just vanishes in a Raid battle 😶

🛡️ Gyms – A very respectable Gym defender and a nightmare to Fighting-type attackers 👻

PVP

Dusknoir is okayish in PvP but if you want to be serious, use Dusclops instead 😁

🔵 Great League – Dusknoir can tank hits very well and has the dreaded Shadow Ball in its belt ⚠️

With no secondary typing to exploit, this Ghost can grab some surprise wins out of the blue 🥳

But again, Dusclops is your best bet 🙌

🟡 Ultra League – Dusknoir brings a repeat and rinse to Ultra League from the Great League, since the same advantages of bulk and Shadow Ball help it do well, even against the mighty Giratina 😮

However, it’s very inconsistent in performance and there’s better Ghosts to invest in 💰

🟣 Master League – What? Didn’t you know Dusknoir freaks out at the very mention of Master League? 🤫

Is it Worth Evolving Litwick?

PVE

Chandelure is a powerful addition to the PvE meta, with an ATK higher than Gengar! Moreover, it’s not weak to Psychic types like its Gen 1 peer, making it more useful in that regard 👀

But, it trails Gengar in DPS by having a less versatile moveset, making it an excellent pick that is complemented with its own niche 👏

What’s more, it can do double duty as a Fire-type Pokémon and is one of the top counters to use! 🔥

An absolutely worthy investment in Pokémon GO 📈

⚔️ Raids – Hex and Shadow Ball make for a formidable moveset pair, dishing out high damage output to beat Ghost and Psychic type Raid bosses like a pro 😎

Do not use its Community Day move Poltergeist as it’s strictly inferior to Shadow Ball ‼️

With Fire Spin and Overheat, it can blow up bosses weak to Fire-type moves 💥

🛡️ Gyms – A decent Gym defender that can hit attackers hard thanks to its 271 ATK stat

PVP

🔵 Great League – You’re better off using Gengar here
🟡 Ultra League – You’re better off using Gengar here (chorus)
🟣 Master League – Don’t use Chandelure or Gengar here 🤣
