Dancing in the Moonlight returns in 2026, bringing Special Background Clefairy, four daily wild encounter bursts, two consecutive Timed Research opportunities, and double Catch XP.
The regional event runs from September 23 to 27, 2026, in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Malaysia joins the event for the first time following its 2025 debut.

Featured Clefairy Encounters
Clefairy will appear in large numbers in the wild for five minutes at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. each day.
Moonlight O’Clock
Moonlight O’Clock will take place four times each day. During each five-minute window, the following Pokémon will appear in large numbers:

Dancing in the Moonlight features two consecutive Timed Research opportunities. The first must be completed before the second becomes available.
First Timed Research
Complete the first Timed Research to earn the following rewards:
- 1,000 XP.
- 1,000 Stardust.
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
- Additional rewards.
The first Timed Research expires on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Second Timed Research
The second Timed Research becomes available after completing the first. Its rewards include:
- An encounter with Clefairy featuring a Special Background.
- Encounters with Teddiursa, Skitty, or Bunnelby.
- Additional rewards.
The second Timed Research and its rewards must be completed and claimed within three days of receiving it.
