Dynamax Sableye Max Monday: Event Guide

Sableye Max Monday takes place on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, when Sableye will be appearing in Power Spots. This Max Monday is the fourth October Max Pokémon, and it is the return of Dynamax Sableye! Dynamax Sableye may also appear in Max Battles through November 1, 2026.

Dynamax Sableye is a Dark and Ghost type, which means it is only weak to Fairy moves. It is a Tier 3 Dynamax Battle and costs 400 Max Particles (MP) to battle, which are only consumed if you win. Dynamax Sableye can be soloed, and its Shiny form is available.

Recommended Team

  • Crowned Shield Zamazenta is an excellent defender against Sableye thanks to Metal Claw and Max Guard. It resists Dark- and Rock-type moves but takes neutral damage from Sableye’s Ghost-, Fairy-, and Fighting-type moves. Backed up by Blissey as a healer, this will work very well.
  • Dynamax Gardevoir and Dynamax Hatterene are the top Fairy-type attackers for Sableye.

⚔️ Best Attackers for Dynamax Sableye

The best attackers for defeating Dynamax Sableye are the following Pokémon:

Your best attacking options are Dynamax Gardevoir and Dynamax Hatterene with Charm and Max Starfall. After that, your most powerful options from the list above will serve you well. Eternatus is also a strong option with Dynamax Cannon; unlike ordinary Dynamax Pokémon, its special Max Attack does not depend on its Fast Move.

🛡️ Best Defenders for Dynamax Sableye

The best defenders to use against a Dynamax Sableye are the following Pokémon:

  • Blissey is exceptionally bulky against Sableye, especially against Ghost-type damage. Crowned Shield Zamazenta is another excellent defender, using its fast Metal Claw to charge the Max Meter and Max Guard to draw focused attacks away from teammates. It does not resist all of Sableye’s moves.

The best healers to use in a Dynamax Sableye Max Battle are the following Pokémon:

Team Composition

Max Battles can be joined by up to four Trainers, each bringing three Pokémon. Sableye can be soloed, but in a group of four we recommend two Trainers focus on attackers, one on tanking/defending, and one on healing if the group needs extra support.

Your team of three Pokémon should begin with a Charger, a Pokémon with a 0.5-second Fast Move. The remaining two slots can be an attacker and a healer, as in our recommended team, or two optimal attackers if you don’t need healing.

Your Charger Pokémon should come from this list of Pokémon with 0.5-second Fast Moves. The quicker your Fast Move, the quicker you can fill the Max Meter. When the Max phase begins, swap to your attacker if you’re focusing on damage, then switch back to your Charger afterward.

Remember, for ordinary Dynamax Pokémon, your Fast Move determines the type of your Max Attack, which is why we have focused on Fast Moves and Max Attacks rather than regular Charged Moves. Gigantamax Pokémon, Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta, and Eternatus use fixed special Max Attacks instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to charge up your Max Meter?

The Max Meter during a Max Battle

In a Max Battle, tap the screen to use Fast Attacks as fast as possible to fill up the Max Meter at the top of the screen. The amount of Max Energy gained from each attack depends on the damage dealt to the boss, but is never less than 1 Max Energy.

For harder Max Battles, especially against Gigantamax Bosses with incredibly high stats, it’s usually better to use quick Fast Moves to fill the Max Meter rather than spending time on Charged Attacks. Against weaker Dynamax bosses, Charged Attacks can be more useful.

How to dodge Boss Attacks

When three lines appear above a Pokémon’s head, it means it is being targeted by the Max Battle Boss. You can dodge the incoming attack by swiping to either the left or the right.

The Dynamax Phase

When your Max Meter reaches its maximum, you will enter the Max phase. You can fill it up by swiping towards the energy icons that appear from time to time, or by using your Fast and Charged Attacks. During the Max phase, you can use three Max Moves.

  • You have a 3-second countdown to choose the Pokémon you wish to use in the Max phase. You can pick any eligible Pokémon in your team, depending on which role you are fulfilling in your group.
  • Once your Max phase ends, you can immediately switch back to another Pokémon in your team if you wish to.
  • You can enter the Max phase more than once in a Max Battle whenever your Max Meter refills.

If all of your Pokémon faint while battling a 3-star or higher level Boss with other Trainers, you can still help your allies by cheering for them so that their meters fill faster.

It is also worth communicating with your fellow Trainers to ensure that those who may be less prepared, such as children who don’t have the resources of others, are included in groups that can help carry them through.

Max Guard
max guard shield and mechanics
Using Max Guard shields you from incoming damage

Max Guard can be used to add a maximum of three shields to your Pokémon. How much HP a single shield can absorb depends on the Max Guard level. Crowned Shield Zamazenta is an exception: it can have up to four Guard shields.

  • 20 HP for level 1
  • 40 HP for level 2
  • 60 HP for level 3

When stacked to a maximum of 3 shields it gives you:

  • 60 HP for level 1
  • 120 HP for level 2
  • 180 HP for level 3

If you find you are re-entering your Max phase and you still have shields left, it is recommended to top back up to three shields if needed, then use your Max Attack for your other moves.

While shields are only applied to the Pokémon using them, Max Guard is a hugely important aspect of a Max Battle. Whilst shielded, a defender attracts the Max Battle boss’s focused, single-target attacks. Group-wide attacks can still damage other Pokémon.

The defender therefore draws focused attacks away from the other active Pokémon in battle, protecting them from the more powerful single-target attack. Dodging should still be attempted in order to reduce the damage received and keep your shields up for longer. We cannot underestimate how important Max Guard is due to it drawing damage away from your group. It is absolutely key to utilise it in your strategy.

One dedicated Max Guard user is often enough for a well-prepared group of four, but harder battles may require additional protection, so communication is key here.

Max Spirit
Max Spirit heals your entire team
Max Spirit heals your active group; you can see their health at the top of the battle screen

Max Spirit heals not only Pokémon using it, but also any other active Pokémon on the battlefield in your group of four. The amount of health restored is based on the level of Max Spirit and the user’s maximum HP. Aim to level up your Max Spirit to at least level 2 for a dedicated healer.

This means that Pokémon with high stamina and HP stats are better healers, even if they don’t have optimal attacks for their Max Battle boss.

⚔️ Attackers in Max Battles

Attackers are Pokémon that have their Max Attack levelled up. Attackers in Max Battles are the Pokémon you want to use during the Max phase. These Pokémon deal maximum damage to the Max Boss.

Remember, for Dynamax Pokémon, your Fast Move determines the typing of your Max Attack, so it is key to ensure it has the correct typing to deal super effective damage to the boss. Gigantamax Pokémon, Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta, and Eternatus use fixed special attacks. Attackers are recommended based on their typing and Attack stat.

🛡️ Defenders in Max Battles

Defenders are Pokémon that have Max Guard leveled up. Good defenders are Pokémon who have large defense and stamina stats, and take reduced damage from the Max Boss. This enables you to stay alive longer, and charge up your Max Meter faster.

Defenders are recommended based on having high Defense and Stamina stats, a quick Fast Move, and typing that resists the Max Boss’s potential moveset.

❤️‍🩹 Healers in Max Battles

Healers are Pokémon that have Max Spirit levelled up. Healers are used in the Max phase to apply healing to your team. Healers are recommended based on their stamina stat. Other elements are considered, including their ability to pull double duty as defenders or attackers.
