Gigantamax Cinderace returns to Pokémon GO during a special Max Battle Day event on Saturday, October 3, 2026. For the first time, it can be shiny! Trainers can look forward to increased Max Particle limit, three special trades for the day, Gigantamax Cinderace appearing on all Power Spots and more!

All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battle, Power Spots will refresh more frequently and additional Power Spots will be active
Up to three Special Trades for the day
From October 2 at 5:00 p.m. to October 3 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20

Keep an eye on the Nearby menu for the icon that shows when Max Particles are ready to collect. For these bonuses to apply, Trainers must first collect all Max Particles available in the Nearby menu.

Gigantamax Cinderace will feature in Max Battles during the event! Gigantamax Cinderace is a pure Fire type, meaning it is weak to Water Ground and Rock type moves. For the first time in Pokémon GO, you can encounter shiny Gigantamax Cinderace if you are lucky!
Regular and Shiny Comparison
Gigantamax Cinderace makes their shiny debut with this event. The shiny version has a darker body colour compared to the original, and the ‘clothing’ is more orange.

For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.
Timed Research rewards include the following.

This Timed Research will be effective on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

The Gigantamax Cinderace Max Battle Day Ultra Ticket Box will be available for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) and includes an event ticket and a 800 Max Particles.
Where can I find Max Battles?
Max Battles will take great teamwork and only appear at Power Spots that sporadically appear in different locations, so we’re making it easier to find both these battles and other Trainers to help you take them on.
You can visit the Map to see the locations where Max Battles might appear during an event, in addition to those in progress. You can also filter the map, or check out nearby Events, to show nearby community meetups days in advance, allowing you to plan more seamlessly.
These community meetups are hosted by a Community Ambassador, who receives official support to run Pokémon GO events for their communities. If there are no Community Ambassadors near you, you can also search for and find the meetups closest to you.
If you’ve never attended a meetup before, Max Battles are a great reason to go out and meet your local community of Trainers for the first time. Coordinate more easily with friends, family, and other Trainers to raise the odds of success in battle together!
